With the world in recession, jobs hard to find and no money to buy food, survival was the name of the game for those inhabiting the cities and towns of America. Lost children, lives given up to chance became the focus of the country's churches and similar charities. College Street was the product of an attempt by the Christian Churches of Kentucky to step in to prevent tragedy on a large scale. The orphans nurtured then became the backbone of the Great Generation, as it is now known. College Street tells the story in dramatic detail.
