Purple Love is a beautifully written and illustrated book about life and love. Join Sarah and her mother as their walk through a magnificent meadow leads to a warm and inspiring conversation about life, death and the power of love. Sarah is a child who embraces all that life has to offer. She runs through the meadow to soar with the eagles. She discovers a family of bunnies and cries out in delight. When they realize that the bunnies' mother has died, Sarah and her mother have a loving and enlightening conversation about life and death. Sarah asks about her grandmother's death, and her mother explains that Sarah's grandmother is still with Sarah in many ways. "Grandma's energy can be in lots of different places. Her energy may be in the snow, in the bluebird which comes and sits on our window every morning, in the gray squirrel who lives in our woods or in the lovely cherry tree in the park."

Through beautiful, lyrical, comforting and honest words, Purple Love answers some of the questions many children have about death. This gentle story, appropriate for children of all ages, also emphasizes equality among people and respect for all living creatures.
