This book examines in thorough detail the promises of George W. Bush, contrasted with the actions delivered and the teachings of Jesus. This conservative Christian attorney argues that Christians have a duty to hold their Christian leaders accountable to the teachings of Christ, and that this includes the self-named "accountability president." Mr. Bush gained the White House solely by wooing the religious right, and owes it to America's Christians to be responsive to Christian doctrine. The war in Iraq, the use of torture, and the mass transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich through "compassionate conservatism" and "trickle-down economics" are all reverse-Christian policies implemented by George W. Bush. Instead of being his most ardent supporters, the religious right should be Bush's sharpest critics if they are to follow the teachings of Jesus, who taught that Christians should not blindly follow those who profess the faith, but should test their spirit by examining their actions: "you will know them by their fruits." Moreover, Christ repeatedly warned that those would come who would pretend to be Christians but would lead many astray, false prophets who would be ravenous wolves in sheep's clothing.
