Hopefully, you're not one of the many people in New York City who thinks "Queens" is a colloquial local term for "airport". We're proud of JKF in the south and its northern brother La Guardia, but there's a heck of a lot more going on in Queens and we've got the guide to prove it- we'll get you fed, watered and having fun all over New York's largest borough. Queens is one of the most multicultural places on the entire planet, with representatives from all six inhabited continents calling it home (and if the Queens Zoo in Flushing Meadows- Corona Park ever gets penguins- all seven). Head to Flushing for Asian, try Indian in Jackson Heights, Astoria does Greek best, eat authentic Caribbean food in Jamaica, and experience all things Irish in Rockaways. If you don't care for culture- and museums like P.S. 1, MoMA Queens, the Hall of Science- do a pub crawl along Queens Boulevard in Woodside/ Sunnyside, Austin Street in Forest Hills, or Bell Boulevard in Bayside. Still not enough? The QZ has something for everyone. Sports fans know Queens is home to the US Open tennis, Shea stadium, the St. John's University Red Storm, and the ponies at Aqueduct Racetrack. Lovers of the great outdoors can enjoy boating and fishing on Jamaica Bay or Little Neck Bay, hikes through acres of preserved wetlands in Alley Pond Park, and miles of Atlantic Ocean beaches on the south side of Queens.
