Case Studies In Physical Education was prepared by 36 physical educators at the elementary, secondary, and university levels and edited by Sandra A. Stroot, Professor, School of Physical Activity and Educational Services, The Ohio State University.

The text explores challenging scenarios that practicing and future physical educators are likely to encounter in the schools. Cases are drawn from real-life experiences in a variety of contexts 3/4 in elementary, middle, and high schools; in urban, suburban, rural schools; and in wealthy and needy districts. Relevant topics include class management, diversity assessment, inclusion, relations with coworkers, marginalization of physical education, and gender equity.

This book provides a concrete, understandable way for physical educators to connect educational theory with what actually happens in school. Questions concerning educational philosophy, methodology, curriculum, discipline, and assessment become more meaningful when explored in a case scenario where the central characters confront situations that develop as a consequence of pedagogical choices.
