A New Look For An Old Conflict
In his new book Gabriel G.Tabarani takes us with an eloquent style on a trip back through the history of the Middle East reaching back into Biblical times. He discusses in detail the origins of both Zionism and the Palestinians as well as from which Biblical and historical sources the Jewish and the Palestinians factions base their claims to the former British mandate of Palestine.
The book develops and explains the substantial body of history required for meaningful understanding of the current troubles, it covers in detail the wars, conflicts and compromises, as well as their impacts and consequences on the Palestinian and the Jewish peoples, including the 1948 war, the Suez war in 1956, the Six-Day War in 1967, the 1973 War, the Lebanese Wars, and most recently the two Palestinian ?Intifadas? (uprising)?
Furthermore, he argues and discusses in detail the issue of both Palestinian and Jewish refugees in addition to the political effects of those wars on the peace process, including the situation of the Palestinian Arabs citizens of Israel.
Moreover, Tabarani speaks in detail about the obstacles to a lasting peace, taking into consideration international involvement of various parties, including USA, EU, Russia and Iran. In addition, he discusses the economical and political viability of a Palestinian state in the West bank and in the Gaza Strip.
In his conclusion Tabarani comes to recommendations as to how to broker a stable peace in the Middle East. It is groundbreaking for a book to provide such a detailed course of action that can help all parties involve to reach a lasting peace.
It is a book written in a fair and balanced way which is rare in its kind. I recommend it to every person who is interested in the Middle East politics.

A collection of fables in the traditional style but not without modern license.
This was the age of chivalry when knights in shining armor went on journeys to slay dragons and to protect the weak. One such knight who was still very young was called before the king who was very old and had no queen nor children. The knight bowed to the king, then said, "My goodly king I am at your service."The king nodded and said, "My good, Sir Youth, I know you have not been a knight for very long and have not yet slain a dragon, yet I have heard that you did save a little boy from the jaws of a wolf. Because of this brave deed, I now award you with the honor of searching the land for a new king."
The knight looked up showing surprise in his eyes. He said to the king, "My lord, we have a king. What would we do with another?"
"True, but not forever am I to rule, you know....I am very old and very tired. It is time to think about a new one," the king said with a sigh. "I feel I do not have much time left on earth"
"But my king, surely there are relatives, one of whom could take your place when the king in heaven calls for you to help him rule."
"Alas, I have none. My poor, dear sister has left earth some five years ago. And her dear daughter kidnaped long before."
"Then let me find the niece for you, my king," the young knight said excitedly. "Why, when returned to you she will give you much joy in your old age and then you will not talk of dying."
The old king rolled his eyes dreamily. "Ah, yes, that would bring untold joy. But, alas, much older and wiser knights years ago searched the land and could not find her. He bowed his head and rubbed his forehead and said sadly, "I fear she's dead...."
These fifteen tales range from a chubby mermaid to a princess mysteriously imprisoned in a Tower.
